BEaUtY & fAsHiOn"Summer Twist on Winter Glitz"

Ok ladies. It’s that time again, we’ve folded up all of those huge winter sweaters and rolled up the corduroy pants! They’ll be packed away until the next bird migration tells us otherwise. It is no longer chilly out and in most well populated places we can guarantee that the temperature will at least hit 80 at some point in the day. But wait! Before you toss those leather boots in, look through your things and see what you can borrow to keep your wardrobe fluid through the season change.

I’ve found my item. I absolutely loved wearing scarves last season, so much that I may have started myself a small collection. As I was packing up my winter wear at the end of this Spring I noticed that I had bought so many scarves last season, that if I didn’t let wearing some of them roll over into summer I will have wasted some cash. So, I have decided to leave my winter/spring scarves out for the summer. Now I know what you’re thinking, why would I walk around covering up my neck in nearly eighty degree weather?

Well, my scarves will be covering nothing in between my chin and breasts. But as far as the other body parts – I can’t make any promises. I have come up with some very summery ways to wear my scarves and not become a sweat box in the process. These are a few of my favorite scarves and how I intend to wear them this season.

This is the most popular way that scarves are being reinvented this summer. When all else fails and I can’t get my hair to go right, the headband scarf gets me right where I need to be. One of the main reasons we shop at the dawn of summer is to add to our variety of summer shirts from last summer.

Think of the dollars saved when we buy 5 less shirts. Here is how to wear a scarf as a shirt:

We’re all obsessed with our waist lines for one reason or another. We either want to hide it because it makes us nervous or enhance it because it’s the part of our figure that we
receive the most compliments on and we’re actually happy with. Wearing a scarf is perfect for that belt loop-less day, to pull us together and show off our natural hour-glass shape.

Of course the sarong is on the list. The beaches are crowded in the day and
some of us don’t want to be parading our “goodies” up and down the boardwalk while we’re trying to find our “spot”. The rest of us would like to cover up some cellulite after baby number three and really just want to make it to the sand without feeling like we’re being compared to Summer Barbie. So, grab
that thick scarf and give it a wrap or two around your waist and add some twist to your walk for a touch of confidence.

Now, of course we love our layers. It’s been a consistent trend since the millennium started, but once spring retires we tend to lose the opportunity to be stylish in layers. This is when our thin silky scarves can really come into play. Shorten the scarf and wrap it around a pair of slacks for Sunday brunch or around a pair of jeans for casual Friday at work.

The best thing about scarves is that they can be worn as body accessories and accessory accessories. Yep! Tie your favorite colorful scarf around one of your summer handbags to add some life  to it. This will give its’ exterior the age of a new bag.

With this unpredictable economy it is tough on a sistuh to keep up with the latest trends, let
alone shop for a new season. When you get ready to put away those holiday vests and long wool skirts set aside your favorite item of the spring and winter seasons and think of some creative ways you can implement them into your summer theme. In the process you’ll save yourself some bucks and earn some props and compliments from your girlfriends.
