He's phenomenal and with so much on his plate he continues to make time for his fans. On July 10, 2008 Tyrese announced on MySpace, via bulletin to his 183,552 fans that he was back on the set of Transformers 2 doing night shoots. He had just wrapped up filming a movie titled Legion about a month ago and his next big movie is DEATH RACE and it's scheduled to be released on August 22. Death Race stars Jason Stathem, Tyrese Gibson, Ian McShane and Joan Allen. The trailer is posted below and you can also find it on Tyrese's MySpace profile. He also has an appearance in Fast & The Furious 4 and soon he'll be moving on to film The A-Team! Tyrese is moving and shaking up things in the film industry and he's pulling inspiration from everywhere, including friends like Will Smith. If you listen to the conversation that he and I had he speaks about the advice that Will Smith gave him which he then passed on to me as well as over a hundred - thousand other fans through his mobile fan club with SayNow.
What's next? Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I'll tell you what's not next ... we won't be seeing another album hit the shelves any time soon! According to Tyrese in a bulletin on MySpace Tyrese wrote, "...The phone has been ringing since BABY BOY for these movie rolls and the calls were Unanswered... Cause I'm out tryna sell records???". He finally reported (to his fans) that he's taking a sabbatical from the music industry. That's right no more R&B songs from Tyrese, no rap lines from Black Ty, no cameos & no TGT! He's focusing on his career as an actor and setting his eye on getting an Oscar. I believe that this guy is going to get that and so much more. He is so in touch with spiritually and yes he's a mortal man with imperfections just as we all are but Tyrese understands the concept of "Giving". He pours his heart out to his fans through his mobile fan club and he gives them a genuine burst of inspiration which clearly shows that he's allowing his light to shine. Just take a listen to the call ...

Tyler Perry actually hand pick her for the part of Julia. Well, let's say they hand picked each other. In an interview with MovieWebs, Gabrielle says it happened like this, "I saw "Diary of a Mad Black Woman"; I'm a big fan of Kimberly Elise. I felt she got short changed in that film; she's carrying this film. I said, 'I want to do this.' I found out it was Tyler Perry, and just by chance, by coincidence, I happened to be sitting next to his agent on a flight - a well, thought out coincidence. I said, 'I'd love to work with Tyler, can you hook it up.' About a week later, he set up a meeting a week later, and he wrote the script for me, and we started shooting a few weeks later. We screen-tested a few men, and the only man on both our lists - I made a list and Tyler made a list - the only man on both our lists was Idris. It was a no-brainer."
